Screen Printing

Rapid Expressions has been screen printing customized apparel in the Greater St. Louis area since 1999, though the art of screen printing has been around for more than 1,000 years.

Basics

The basics of Screen Printing are rather simple: You have a garment, ink, and a silk mesh or screen (hence the name). A majority of the screen is blocked out, but certain parts allow ink to pass through. When the printer places the screen on top of the garment and pushes ink over it, the design is printed onto the garment.

This process can be repeated multiple times in the same area, to create multi-color designs, or in multiple areas, such as the front and back of a shirt. The only limit is your imagination, and we can help you create your design!

Our Process

Screen Printing typically works best with 1-4 colors per design, with a print area anywhere from a few square inches up to 13″ x 19″ large. We use durable plastisol inks, which should last for several years and many wash cycles on apparel made of cotton and/or polyester. We can also special order reflective, metallic (glitter), fluorescent, and other varieties as needed — including unique colors for your brand or team.

We have multiple Screen Printing presses (both manual and automatic) to print your apparel as quickly and consistently as possible. Price will vary depending on the number of items, colors, and print areas. Minimum order is 12 pieces, and orders are usually completed within 1-2 weeks. Rush service (3-5 days) is available for an additional charge.
